The focused concentration on individual aspects of bassoon playing helps to more easily identify and specifically improve errors and inaccuracies in one's own playing. Through the consistent study of these exercises, the foundations for tackling difficult passages in the bassoon literature are established, as only the detailed technical preparation of a musical work allows for spontaneous, intuitive music-making. Georg Klütsch, born in 1951 in Düren, studied school music in Mainz and bassoon with Prof. Helman Jung in Detmold. He was a long-time solo bassoonist with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Sabine Meyer Wind Ensemble. As a professor at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, he successfully built a thriving class in a short period of time. Since 2001, he has been a professor of bassoon and chamber music at the Cologne University of Music and conducts international masterclasses.
