Just before the end of the Weimar Republic, journalist Curt Moreck takes the curious visitor to Berlin by the hand and shows him the hotspots of the nightlife at that time: the bars and dives, the variety shows and dance halls, the regular hangouts of homosexuals, the night bathing establishments, as well as the places of prostitution and crime. Moreck's descriptions bring the vibrant Berlin of the 1920s back to life and read surprisingly contemporary.
