Product details
In the last five decades, about 300,000 Kosovars, around 15 percent of Kosovo's population, have migrated to Germany as guest workers and as a result of the war in Kosovo. A move to a foreign country has far-reaching consequences for people's lives. How have they fared here? In what ways has life in Germany changed them and shaped their identity? The book "Longing in a Suitcase," published in Albanian in September 2009, provides answers to these questions from various autobiographical perspectives. It includes eight stories of Kosovars who migrated to Germany at different times and, in some cases, returned to Kosovo. The author duo Jeton Neziraj and Timon Perabo recorded these stories from both a Kosovar and a German perspective on the topic of migration.
