Product details
The spontaneous and long-term categorization of fellow human beings is an essential part of human communication. By activating a categorization, shared knowledge bases can be generated or expanded, which are a prerequisite for successful communication. Currently, the interaction between individuals who have been living in a society for a longer time and those who are newly arriving is receiving significant political and media attention. Sara Dirnagl analyzes migration counseling conversations micro-analytically to uncover mutual attributions in the interaction and draw conclusions about underlying concepts of reality. The results not only provide insights into the conversations studied but also offer indications of societal categorizations within the framework of the migration debate.
