The Citation Handbook for Lawyers is a guide on how to cite correctly in legal works. This can include a thesis or dissertation, any other monograph, an article, a judgment, or a legal document. Similar formatting questions arise in all these cases. For example, should the place of publication be mentioned for a book? Should the first page be included in the citation for an article, or just the page being referenced? What specific considerations apply to online publications?

The Citation Handbook was developed in collaboration with the editorial teams of NJW and JuS, as well as the legal editorial department of C.H.BECK Publishing, and thus reflects the citation styles of the most important practice and educational publications, as well as the leading German legal publisher. The authors compile previously uncollected information.
