About the Work

This volume is designed for the Bavarian trainee election subject group "European Law and International Law." It focuses on training and examination-relevant questions:

• The fundamentals and basic concepts of Union law, such as Union institutions, sources of law, the domestic effect of Union law, its interpretation, and legislation
• The EU's legal protection system
• Excerpts from substantive Union law, such as Union citizenship, fundamental freedoms and rights, and competition law

The first part presents the history of the Community and the Union, the actors and institutions, as well as the sources of law and the domestic effect and interpretation of Community law. Additionally, it explains the normative system, legislation, and enforcement of European law. The second part includes "European procedural law," namely the procedures for legal protection before European institutions.
