About the Work The Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 on cosmetic products (EU Cosmetics Regulation) has been in effect across Europe since July 11, 2013. This regulation is an evolution of the previously applicable directive, which had to be implemented into national law. With the EU regulation, cosmetic law is now uniformly regulated. New objectives of this EU regulation include clear regulations on product responsibility, product notification, disclosure regarding nanomaterials, uniform labeling, and a criteria catalog for advertising claims.
