From May 2015, the NS Documentation Center Munich at Königsplatz is open, located where the "Brown House," the party headquarters of the NSDAP, once stood. The catalog includes the texts and images of the permanent exhibition as well as 23 accompanying essays by renowned historians. Thus, it serves as an illustrated history of the Third Reich based on the latest research. Munich is uniquely connected to the rise of National Socialism. The NSDAP emerged from the anti-Semitic and far-right circles of Munich after World War I, with Adolf Hitler as its leading figure. Here, he attempted to seize power through a coup in 1923. After the seizure of power, a party quarter was established where about 6,000 people organized the NSDAP apparatus until 1945, and here was the cultic center of the party.
