Bamboo bridges stretch between the houses, parking attendants wear cone hats, exotic vegetables grow on vacant lots, and a dentist offers Sunday services for patients from the Far East. After the Ho Chi Minh flag briefly flew atop the district office, these actions culminate in a celebration like the neighborhood has never seen before: a grand Vietnamese water puppet theater in a pond! All of this originates from the general store of the educated archaeologist Sung, where the fates of former Vietnamese contract workers converge.
