Bavaria is a land of bells: Tens of thousands resonate from the towers of the Free State. The bell ensembles of the seven bishop cathedrals are among the most magnificent in Europe. But the Landshut St. Martin's Cathedral, the basilicas of Aschaffenburg and Gössweinstein, the collegiate churches of Berchtesgaden and Altötting, as well as many village churches, also count among the great voices in the bell heavens.
