Bellanca WB-2
2011Product details
The Bellanca WB-2 Columbia is a two-seat transport aircraft designed by Giuseppe Mario Bellanca in 1926. The abbreviation WB stands for Wright-Bellanca, referring to the Wright Aeronautical Company, where Bellanca was employed at that time. This aircraft has a wingspan of 14 meters and a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The range of the WB-2 was an impressive 8000 km for its time. The first machines of this type were built in 1924 and achieved great success in aircraft races. After Bellanca decided not to produce the WB-2 in large quantities, the plans for the aircraft were sold to Charles A. Levine of the Columbia Aircraft Corporation, which then began production of this model.
