The Baron von Münchhausen, also known as the "Lying Baron," was a real person. He traveled extensively, especially through Russia, and loved to tell stories; however, he didn't always stick to the truth: sometimes he rode on a cannonball, sometimes he flew through the air while duck hunting, and sometimes only the front half of his horse would come to the well to drink. These imaginative stories are retold in a clear and understandable way and have been specifically adapted for young German learners: simplified and shortened text with explanations of difficult words as footnotes, exercises for reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar, preparation exercises for the A1 level exam, a final test to evaluate one's learning progress, including an MP3 download of the fully narrated text.
