At around eleven years old, Djadi flees from Syria and ends up in Frankfurt. No one knows what he experienced during his escape across the Mediterranean and what he has lost. Now, the shared household of Jan and Dorothea takes care of him. He learns the language, the habits of his new "family," and how to assert himself in school.
