The second, completely revised edition of the book is supplemented by new chapters. For example, it includes a previously unpublished research report on sex education in elementary schools. Additional essays on current topics such as sexual diversity, pornography and youth, sexuality and violence, as well as sex education and violence prevention, sexual ethics, sexual education, and sexual culture are added. The volume unfolds fundamental categories of sexual science and addresses current statements on sex education. Empirical studies on youth sexuality and theoretical analyses from critical social science are presented. Terms such as gender issues, sexual orientations, and the growing importance of ethics, morality, and sex education in an intercultural context are discussed, among others.
