London 1894 - While lavish parties are being held in the salons of high society and spiritual séances, fortune tellers, and ghost conjurers are all the rage, a street boy dies under mysterious circumstances in Covent Garden market. What initially appears to be a routine case ultimately reveals itself to be a sinister crime that not only makes Chief Inspector Swanson doubt his common sense but also pushes him and his team to their limits.
