Current approaches to behavioral activation place crucial new emphasis on classical forms of behavior development, particularly by situating behavioral activation within the context of value orientation and acceptance. The manual describes this new approach in a practical manner and focuses on analyzing difficulties in implementation and developing individually tailored interventions. Behavioral activation is especially successful when activities can be derived from the patient's values. In addition to elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, metacognitive techniques and social skills are also incorporated.
