Product details

The "Höhner" look back on 50 years of band history. Founded in 1972 under the name "Ne Höhnerhoff" as a Cologne dialect and carnival band, the initially chicken-costumed Cologne originals brought joy to stages and session halls. Today, the "Höhner" are part of the cultural fabric of the Rhine metropolis - like the Cathedral, the Carnival, and Kölsch beer. Known throughout Germany and having become a trademark of Cologne with hits like "Viva Colonia" and "Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann?", their music is shaped by a sense of home, zest for life, and a love for carnival and sports. On the occasion of this 50th anniversary, numerous companions, friends, colleagues, and fans honor the Cologne music group with very personal contributions and memories, including Frank Schätzing, Annette Frier, Andrea Berg, Bastian Pastewka, Lukas Podolski, Hansi Hinterseer, Annemarie Reker, Peter Millowitsch, Wolfgang Bosbach, Wolfgang Oelsner, Heiner Brand, Erry Stocklosa, Bömmel and Hartmut Priess from Bläck Fööss, Willy Ketzer, Pierre Littbarski, Peter Brings, Toni Schuhmacher, Armin Laschet, Markus Ritterbach, Carmen Thomas, and others. The book authorized by the "Höhner" also serves as a catalog for a special exhibition at the Cologne City Museum, showcasing the diverse history of the "Cologne feathered creatures.".
