Product details
"Gehe aus mein Herz und suche Freud/In dieser lieben Sommerzeit ..." The summer song from which these well-known lines are taken is one of 139 surviving songs by the Protestant pastor Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676). Ulrich Grober follows in the footsteps of the theologian, who was educated in Wittenberg, moved to Berlin in 1642/43 as a tutor, and in 1651 to Mittenwalde, where he took up his first pastorate, moved to the main church of St. Nikolai in Berlin in 1657, and in 1669 went to Lübben as pastor, after the orthodox Lutheran was removed from office by the Protestant Reformed Elector Friedrich Wilhelm.
