Berliner Filz
German, Horst Bosetzky, 2016Product details
In early 1962, a good six months after the construction of the Wall, the construction industry is booming in West Berlin. The war-related destruction and the influx of refugees from the GDR are causing the housing market to thrive. Building senator Klaffenbach has his hands full with major projects such as Falkenhagener Feld, Gropiusstadt, and the Paul-Hertz settlement. When he suddenly disappears without a trace one day, the worst is feared. Is there a connection to the perpetrator who has inexplicably carried out attacks on several people? Or to the corpse that is soon found on the Wilsberg, in the no man's land between East and West? Very soon, the investigations lead Commissioner Otto Kappe into the swamp of corruption that increasingly defines construction activities in West Berlin. "It Happened in Berlin," known as the "Kappe Series," reflects the Berlin of that time through fictional criminal cases.
