Berlin! Berlin!
German, Kurt Tucholsky, 2017Product details
"Berlin! Berlin!" by Kurt Tucholsky is a collection of satirical texts about the author's hometown, written by the man with the sharp pen and precise tone who was the voice of Berlin in the 1920s. This book is the first and only English-language compilation of Tucholsky's texts about Berlin and one of the few books featuring Tucholsky's writings that has been published in English. It includes some biographical texts, classics, as well as political writings about post-World War I Berlin and the Weimar era. The book is partially illustrated with photos of the author, his friends, Tucholsky's residences in Berlin, and what still reminds us of him today. The foreword is by Mark Twain; it was written during an American writer's visit to Berlin in 1891-92 as a travel letter for the Chicago Daily Tribune.
