The manual contains materials and methodological-didactic guidelines for a foundational course preparing for work in elderly care assistance. The courses are aimed at individuals with a need for basic education as well as those for whom German is a foreign language (minimum B1 level). The care course consists of 20 modules for two courses, designed to last 4 and 8 months respectively. The manual explains the use of the materials for lesson planning and implementation and includes worksheets, learning games, sample exams, and solutions. The course book and manual for instructors were developed as part of the transfer project KOMPASS2. They reflect the requirements of AZAV-certified qualification measures for workplace-oriented basic education and care. The materials cover both the content of the 4-month activation measure and the content of the 8-month vocational training.
