Term paper from 2012 in the field of German Studies - Modern German Literature, Language: German, Abstract: Undoubtedly, Brecht is among the best authors of the 20th century, alongside Kafka. He was the founder of a highly regarded art form: epic theater. Personally, I am particularly interested in the calendar stories that Brecht wrote at the beginning of the 20th century. Noteworthy in this short prose are the series of stories about Mr. Keuner. This paper deals with Brecht's life - an overview, the history of the work associated with the main character Mr. Keuner, and finally, the interpretations of some pieces in the large collection of stories. The paper aims to explain the meanings as well as the beauty of the stories to the reader.
