A special and increasingly popular form of general tourism is medical tourism. It involves patients seeking medical treatment abroad. Patient flows typically occur from industrialized countries to developing countries, where patients want high quality at low prices, but also from developing countries to industrialized countries, where patients seek higher quality treatments. Key factors in this regard include the cost-benefit ratio of medical tourism offerings, access to additional services, and meeting patient requirements. In her book, the author not only analyzes the current situation in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan but also provides insights into the potential and future development of medical tourism.
