Product details

Dagmar Liechti-von Brasch, born in 1911 in Estonia, moved to Zurich with her siblings after the early death of their mother, where she found a new home with her uncle Max Bircher-Benner's family. She studied medicine and became an assistant doctor at her uncle's clinic, who was the inventor of Birchermüsli, also known as apple diet food. After his death in 1939, Dagmar Liechti-von Brasch, now a mother of four, temporarily took over the management of the clinic, and from 1949, this responsibility was fully entrusted to her. She succeeded in revitalizing the clinic and further developing the holistic approach. Marina Widmer and Kathrin Barbara Zatti trace the life and work of the doctor Dagmar Liechti-von Brasch. Her struggles to balance career and family sound all too familiar and relevant. It is remarkable that she was still able to make pioneering contributions to medicine.
