Hildegard of Bingen, elevated to the status of Doctor of the Church and Saint by Pope Benedict in 2012, received high recognition during her lifetime for her life as a nun as well as for her charismatic influence and actions. Not least, her literary works inspired the two monks Gottfried and Theoderich during Hildegard's time to portray her life as marked by trials and tribulations, in which God's special grace was continually made visible. This moving document offers, in addition to the translated original text, the canonization decree from May 10, 2012, as well as the apostolic letter regarding her elevation to the rank of Doctor of the Church from October 7, 2012.
