The German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) is the relevant foundational and reference work for construction procurement in Germany. It has traditionally served as a benchmark for good construction contracts and solid contractual agreements. The new VOB complete edition 2019 will replace the VOB 2016 following the publication of the introductory decree and will be mandatory from the specified date. With the 2019 edition, changes in Part A and Part C will take effect. Part A of the VOB focuses on the threshold area. During the procurement law reform in 2016, several significant changes were made to ensure the desired substantive alignment between the various sections of VOB/A. In Part C of the VOB, a total of 14 ATV have been technically revised, and the title of three ATVs has been changed. Numerous ATVs have been editorially revised and adapted to the latest state of technology and standardization.
