One night, Marek and Philipp encounter a nasty surprise in an underpass: after a party, they are attacked by two aggressive and brutal men. During the scuffle, Marek tries to defend himself and injures one of the attackers so severely that he ends up dying. It seems like a clear case of self-defense at first. But one morning, the police show up at Marek and Philipp's apartment door. There is an arrest warrant. Marek is taken into custody, where he spends his days writing in his diaries, reflecting on his fears and hopes in loneliness and isolation. He has no idea how long he will have to stay - or if a lengthy prison sentence awaits him. He is unaware that a sadistic prison guard has set his sights on him and that his friend is diving into a hot affair, unable to reject the advances of his Greek ex-lover Stavros.
