Although the construction industry in German-speaking countries holds significant economic importance and presents a large number of potential valuation cases due to the multitude of construction companies and corporate acquisitions, there has previously been no scientific work on the valuation of construction companies. This gap is filled by the present book. Valuation and acquisition expert Burkhard Lohr has developed a valuation model that takes into account the specific characteristics of the construction industry. Extensive empirical surveys and in-depth analyses provided the basis for selecting an appropriate valuation method and designing a corresponding valuation model. This construction-specific valuation model is not only applicable as a tool for valuing construction companies but can also be adapted, following Rappaport, for the strategic management of construction firms.
