Almost three decades ago, the wall fell - and a year later, the capital of Germany was no longer Bonn, but once again Berlin. The German Unity Cycle Path connects the historically significant cities along the Rhine and Spree rivers. Initiated by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure to mark the 25th anniversary of German reunification, it symbolizes the merging of the East and West German transport infrastructure. Embark on a journey through seven federal states and follow the diverse and exciting traces of German unity. Over 1,100 kilometers, you will discover some of the most beautiful landscapes in Germany, passing through large and small river valleys, deep forests, and numerous low mountain ranges. Along the way, you will also encounter regional specialties of all kinds, as well as various mentalities and dialects. In addition, you will gain a cross-section of the region.
