In many areas of economic life, grants serve a business incentive and financing function. Sandra Wolf applies the commercial law principles of proper accounting to the accounting of grants and develops systematic accounting principles for all types of grants. Within the IFRS, the author demonstrates that the relevant regulations exhibit numerous shortcomings. She transfers the fair value static reform efforts of international standard setters to the issue of grant accounting and proposes suggestions for the further development of accounting standards.
