This volume documents a series of contributions from the VIII International Scientific Conference on Educational Reform and Teacher Training, precisely titled: Educational Reform and Teacher Preparation. The conference theme in 2001 was: Education in the Age of the Information Society. More than 300 domestic and foreign practicing educators, scientists, and members of educational organizations discussed this topic in Vilnius. The main current issues addressed included the faster reform of studies and the quality of education in relation to the new demands of the information age. The volume includes a Lithuanian-Estonian-German presentation of research in the field of education, the status of educational reform, and initiatives in science and study. The range of topics and issues chosen, particularly by Lithuanian authors, is very diverse: it spans from educational questions to research reports in the field of teacher education, considering educational, psychological, and socio-cultural aspects in relation to the information society.
