Human rights represent a central foundation of education and have become a guiding concept in pedagogy. However, many questions remain disputed or unresolved. This pertains to the claim of validity of human rights, the conditions for their realization, as well as their significance in relation to education, upbringing, and socialization. There is currently a significant deficit in theory and research in the field of human rights education. This volume addresses this gap in order to stimulate the theoretical and empirical development of the subject area. Contributions from various disciplines present foundations, concepts, and empirical findings related to human rights education, while also shedding light on difficulties, controversies, and areas in need of further exploration.
