Corporate education management is currently undergoing a transformation phase. The focus solely on operational aspects is being replaced by a normative and strategic orientation. However, this development has received little attention in management theory so far. Ilona Dieser explores how education management, in its new significance as a complex management task, can be conceptualized at the normative and strategic level within companies. She analyzes management theory by incorporating a rich literature base and clarifies her findings through the results of case studies from companies such as Lufthansa, Kienbaum, Bertelsmann, and SICK. As a result, a navigational map for education management in companies emerges in the tradition of St. Gallen management theory, encompassing various normative and strategic aspects and categories.
