The biographical handbook contains 3,650 short biographies of administrative and judicial officials who were active in the Prussian provincial and central authorities between 1740 and 1806/15. The articles include relevant information about the individuals' dates of birth and death, social and regional background, education, and professional careers. Most of the officials listed are not found in any other biographical dictionary. The research was based on various documents, including appointment and examination records. Each article is followed by a concise bibliography and source list.
