Alvar Aalto, born in 1998 in Kuortane, Finland, is one of the last figures of the great architectural generation of the 20th century. His buildings, ranging from urban planning to simple residential houses, function as unified organisms. Formal architectural theories are foreign to him. The journey of each structure, from the first fleeting sketch to the handover to the client, is fascinating and entirely shaped by the architect's personality. Everything remains alive and in motion, appearing relaxed and natural, as if it has grown from the surroundings. His special sensitivity to the importance of individual components and construction phases allows for a diversity of personal expression even in more modest building tasks. Thus, furniture, lamps, curtains, and all the elements that make a house livable largely stem from Aalto's designs and experiments.
