Caminada is known far beyond the borders of Switzerland: as an architect who has artistically and constructively accompanied the award-winning renewal of his hometown Vrin in Graubünden, as well as a professor of architecture and design at ETH Zurich. In Valendas, a once-vibrant village that suffered from recent rural depopulation, he revitalized an inn, the community hall, and the village square on behalf of a citizens' foundation, helping to avert the impending decline of the village. In this illustrated interview volume, he discusses new life in old villages and how his concepts work in collaboration with engaged citizens.
