The experiences documented in this book stem from 45 years of my psychotherapeutic and psychoanalytic work in clinics and private practice. Notably, I would like to highlight my collaboration with the Christian Youth Village Work of Germany (CJD). There, I conducted case discussion groups with youth village and youth leaders, and trained and assessed occupational and work therapists. As the managing director, head, and medical director of the vocational training center at the Youth Village Homburg/Saar within the CJD, I was responsible for the multi-year support of approximately 1,000 young people, some of whom had physical and some psychological disabilities, during their vocational training. I would like to extend my special thanks to the president of the CJD, Professor Pastor Arnold Dannenmann, and his successor, Dr. Christopher Dannenmann. During this work, the methods and techniques have evolved.
