When the situation seems hopeless, the principle of hope is invoked. Its originator, Ernst Bloch, was not in love with failure but with success: For the philosophy of concrete utopia, which strictly distinguishes itself from utopian thinking in the sense of wishful thinking, social practice serves as the point of orientation. The triad of solidarity, alliance technology, and homeland marks a maximum that is latent in the world process but still requires realization by the human subject. Bloch systematically developed a corresponding philosophical conceptual apparatus, based on the idea of the primacy of theory and the primacy of practice, in his theory of categories. The subject is universal human existence as not-yet-being. The process is emphasized.
