Generally, it is said that people are turning away from politics. However, this is not the case everywhere, as can be seen on the internet, where there have been a number of political weblogs for the past 10 years, in which the operators express their opinions on current events. Blogger Jens Bertrams has been addressing political and social developments in Germany and his second home, the Netherlands, on his site "Mein Wa(h)renhaus" since spring 2005. For this book, he has compiled 60 of his approximately 500 articles published on the blog. He follows the integration debate, the hardening of the social climate, international developments, and the state of our democracy, but strictly from the perspective of a citizen. The special appeal of this book lies in the fact that the author attempts to understand the connections while writing, which are often so incomprehensible.
