A whimsically painted, humorously cheeky tale about the various efforts to get the mother-in-law underground, and as cost-effectively as possible. It’s a story about Bodan Siekorsky, a generally kind-hearted man who is initially somewhat at a loss as to how to proceed, despite credibly claiming he has never buried anyone before. Somehow, he manages it, so much so that even his wife Irmgard, the daughter of the deceased, has no objections. However, the inheritance he intended to claim is completely consumed by the funeral expenses (wreath, coffin, wake). Then, his wife's aunt, the sister of the already deceased mother-in-law, passes away. But Bodan has learned. He loads the dead aunt into the car and drives with her to Holland, having heard that they can cremate bodies there well and cheaply. Bodan and his wife do not want to be present at the ceremony; they head home without concerning themselves with the aunt's ashes. They drive towards Bochum, making a detour to Dortmund to the deceased aunt's apartment. They want to clear out the apartment. In the process, they come across the will. It states in black and white that Irmgard, as the niece, would inherit everything if... Yes, if the aunt receives a proper burial and a nice gravestone.
