Product details

During the German occupation of France, around 76,000 Jews were deported to extermination camps, including over 11,000 children who were murdered immediately after transport. About 800 of these children came from Germany and Austria. They had fled to France with their parents to escape the Nazis. Beate and Serge Klarsfeld have diligently gathered all available information about these children to remember their fate and preserve them from being forgotten. There are letters from the children to their parents and friends, some handwritten, as well as other documents such as copies of passports, deportation lists, and newspaper articles. Many life stories can be well documented this way. In addition to the children's dates of birth, places of origin, and transport numbers, about 200 photographs show their faces looking back at us.
