Product details

With this band, you don't have many friends, the Böhsen Onkelz once wrote. Today - three decades later - they are the most successful German rock band with more than two million fans. Who are these fans? Have they experienced the transformations of the Böhsen Onkelz? What significance does the band hold in their lives? Klaus Farin, the founder of the Archive of Youth Cultures in Berlin, has interviewed over 2,000 fans of the Böhsen Onkelz for this study. Here are their responses. About the author: Klaus Farin, born in 1958 in Gelsenkirchen, has lived in Berlin since 1980 - thanks to punk. After working as a student newspaper editor and fanzine creator, concert organizer and security, bookseller and journalist, he is now a freelance author and speaker in schools and universities, youth clubs and correctional facilities, academies and companies. He has published various works on skinheads, football fans, goths, Karl May, and others (most recently: Frei.Wild. Hirnkost 2016).
