1979. Troisdorf near Cologne. Eighteen-year-old Andreas wants to become a writer and is looking for a mentor. Full of hope, he writes to Heinrich Böll, sending him his short stories, but no contact is established. Shortly after, the poet Frieder Salzgraf moves to Troisdorf. Andreas enrolls in a writing course with him, and the two become friends. However, Salzgraf increasingly exhibits disturbing behavior. A personal drama unfolds, which for Andreas only ends with an act of liberation forty years later. "Böll did not make it to Troisdorf," a story about coming of age in the old Federal Republic, is Andreas Fischer's second literary publication.
