Product details

Until well into the 19th century, Bogenhausen was a small farming village on the outskirts of the city. After its incorporation in 1892, the new district quickly developed into Munich's most popular and soon also its most prestigious residential area. During the reign of Prince Regent Luitpold, new residential areas were created according to the plans of renowned Munich architects, featuring park-like villa plots and stately apartment buildings, whose prominent residents led a vibrant social life. The Heilmann real estate company was already actively courting potential buyers for grand single-family homes at that time. They planned for the affluent society that was turning to Munich to settle permanently in the stimulating atmosphere of the famous art city. Historians Karin Pohl and Willibald Karl bring the history of Munich's upscale residential area on the right bank of the Isar River to life. Using numerous sources and documents, they trace the development of this unique area.
