Clown, clown, we want to clown. There’s hardly a Hamburger who can’t sing this refrain out loud. The wonderful street song "De Jung mitn Tüdelband" was written more than 90 years ago by the Brothers Wolf and has developed into a true Hamburg anthem. It is now being released for the first time as a picture book for young and old alike. The lyrics are illustrated by Hamburg artist Jens Natter in an appealing, period-appropriate drawing style. The entire scenario of this adaptation reflects the time when the song was created, namely Hamburg in the early 20th century, giving the picture book a special authenticity. As a special extra, the book includes a translation of the Low German lyrics into High German. Additionally, the Brothers Wolf are briefly portrayed, as presumably only a few are aware of the sad story behind the song.
