This cycling guide connects the North Sea-Baltic Sea Cycle Route and the Border Route into a circular tour of approximately 200 km in length. Both cycling trails also provide ideal connections to the popular long-distance cycling routes in this region: the Baltic Sea Cycle Route, the Oxen Path, the North Sea Cycle Route, the Danish Baltic Sea Cycle Route, and the Danish National Route 8. This creates numerous combination options to extend cycling tours as desired. Between Flensburg at the Baltic Fjord and the Wiedau Lock near Hojer, the circular tour on the North Sea-Baltic Sea Cycle Route and the Border Route offers various highlights in nature, culture, and history. In accordance with the prevailing western wind direction, the tour is described so that you ride westward on the North Sea-Baltic Sea Cycle Route, the 'express route', and cycle from west to east on the approximately twice as long Border Route with the wind at your back.
