Product details
The poet Theodor Storm had a particular interest in the uncanny and ghostly. Shortly before his death, he famously based a ghost story on his greatest and most significant novella, "The Rider on the White Horse." In his early years (1842-1848), Storm collected and wrote down ghost stories. However, they were never published; the manuscript only resurfaced in 1988. These are thrilling tales from all walks of life and from various European countries. Of the total 60 stories, 27 are completely unknown: Storm recorded them based on oral tradition. The text basis of this book is the manuscripts of the New Ghost Book, which are preserved in the archive of the Theodor Storm Society in Husum.
