Analytical child and adolescent psychotherapy must involve therapeutic work with parents or caregivers to be successful. The model of parental involvement described by Kerry K. and Jack Novick in this book has been developed from their practice. It was prompted by treatments that never really got underway, as well as therapies that were discontinued or ended too early. From these challenges and the insights gained, they have created a clear model for practice. Jack and Kerry Novick have designed this work as a practical guide for conducting successful parental involvement in analytical child and adolescent psychotherapy, without which therapeutic success for children and adolescents is not possible. In doing so, they fill a gap in the literature and are also pioneers in the field.
