Even during the lifetime of Adolf Loos, there was a plan for a complete edition of his writings. Over the decades, these unique documents appeared in various magazines and newspapers, were delivered as lectures, and were only later published or transcribed by listeners and his students, making them largely inaccessible for a long time. Even Loos' most famous pamphlet, 'Ornament and Crime', was initially presented to the public as a lecture. The polarizing effect of Loos' radical postulates remains unchanged today, just as it was then. This edition of his collected writings offers, for the first time, a comprehensive view of all publications, lectures, and interviews by Loos from the years 1897-1931 in the German language. Numerous texts are being published for the first time or for the first time in book form. Therefore, this edition represents the fulfillment of a promise that has long been overdue.
