These are the last words that 10-year-old Ana remembers as she gets up from the forest floor. She survived by a trick, but her father and mother are dead. It’s 1991, near Zagreb, in a country where neighbors have turned into enemies. Ana manages to escape to America, along with her little sister Rahela, who is still a baby. Rahela grows up carefree, but Ana cannot forget. Until one day she decides to return to present-day Croatia, to the place that is still full of wonders for her.
